5 Things I'm Most Grateful For This Christmas

Merry Christmas guys!! I hope your all having a lovely time with your loved ones?!
For the first time in a long time I can say that this year has been a phenomenal one. I had spent a lot of my prior years following a path that wasn't meant for me. 2015 was the year I found my true purpose in life and 2016 was spent putting things in place to fulfil that purpose. I have never at any point felt as secure, and content as I do now. If I was to die today all I would have to say is thank you. I've decided to share the 5 things that I am most grateful for this Christmas.

1. My Independence

I have never been the type of woman to depend on anyone for anything. My parents are both very hard working people and although they are very well established, I was never just handed anything. I remember washing my mums car at 10 years old in exchange for a 5 pound note that I immediately went to deposit in to my first bank account.

These are the type of values that will be embedded in me forever. I am not the daughter of, I am not the wife of, I am not the girlfriend of......I am an independent, hard working, young woman. Everything I am today is because I have worked hard to get it. Hand outs have never existed in my world.

2. My Gender

I am grateful for the fact that I am a woman! We women have the ability to multi task in a form that men cannot. For example if a man is doing a task such as ironing a shirt, his whole mind is solely focused at that point in time on ironing that shirt. However if a woman is doing the same simple task of ironing a shirt she will be thinking of...... a) how to style the shirt, b) the event she is going to in that shirt, c) how she will look whilst walking in to that event whilst wearing the shirt, d) calling the uber she will take home after the event in that shirt....... We can do 100 things all at the same time.

As well as this women have the ability to love like no other. One of my core values in life is love. Everything I do is so that I can be the best human being, in order to not only be the best wife and mother possible, but also to impact other peoples lives. What is life without love?

3. My Friends

In real life I am very reserved and I don't have that many friends (I can use my fingers to count them). But I can proudly say that the few friends I do have play such a significant and uplifting role in my life. Having a solid and safe friendship circle is something that I cherish with my life. These are the type of people I can call on, at any hour with any request, and they will come through every single time! If any of you are reading this, I just want to say thank you for making my 2016.

All of my supporters are my friends. All of you guys who read my blog, follow my social media steams and leave words of encouragement thank you! Growing up in an african household I don't really have the support from people who would be considered significant, so I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who are routing for me.

4. My Journey

Lets be real guys, life gets so incredibly tough sometimes. When I think about where I started, and the hurdles I've crossed I know it's only miracles that have brought me to this point. We all have this perfect image of what life should be like, but in reality your greatest achievements are overcoming those hard times and being exactly where you are now.

In stead of thinking about how far away you are from that 'perfect life', use this time to reflect on how far you have come. Celebrate yourself, eat a bit too much of that double chocolate pudding and pat yourself on the back.

5. My Passion

Life begins from the moment you discover your purpose and passion in life.
2016 has come with it's challenges but the reason I see this as such a successful year is because it's the fist year I spend actively following my passion.

The best thing you can do for yourself is find what makes you feel alive! Find that thing and make a plan on how to do it for the rest of your life. When others are sleeping, partying or gossiping what is the 1 thing that you would rather spend 23 of your 24 hours a day doing?

Weather you have had a good or bad year, I hope this post has been able to help you guys find a few things to be grateful for today. Once again I wish you all a Merry Christmas and I'll see you all very soon!XXXXXX
